Why are there different packages? Different packages are there for two main reasons, budget and time. I cater for various budgets, because weddings are based on various budgets. Every wedding couple would like to spend thousands on their wedding, but this is sometimes not possible.
There is always the option to be able to upgrade from one package to another with just the price difference between the packages themselves.
The other reason for the different packages is time, some couple’s now decide to zoom off on honeymoon after the wedding breakfast, and would not need a professional photographer to stay for the evening.
David's packages start for as little as £199.00 for the “Photographers Attendance Only” and range up-to £2499.00 for the Ultimate package.
If David has to travel outside the normal area, are there any extra expenses incurred? Only if David has to stay overnight at a local B&B, all travel expenses are included in the packages up to a distance of 20 miles (round trip) however, this does not include the “Photographers Attendance Only” package.
How many pictures do you take on an average wedding? I will never be guided by the amount of pictures taken. There is no set limit to the amount of pictures taken, this is something I also did when shooting on film.
You cannot fix the amount of pictures to take, because you never know what is going to happen on the day, I just keep taking them.
How many photographers will attend the wedding? I usually uses an assistant on most weddings and the assistant also covers as a second photographer at weddings. This allows the candid photography to be conducted under purely natural conditions, David also needs someone to carry the camera equipment……ha ha ha.
A dedicated second photographer can be requested at a charge of £150.00.
What does David do about food on the day? I and my assistant/2nd photographer will usually be invited by the couple to have some food at the reception while they are working. This usually consists of a small meal or sandwiches.
How long will David take over the pictures After the main ceremony I would like to have at least one hour for the pictures, if not a little more. This is usually ample time to manage the main group pictures and romantic pictures of the couple themselves.
Which type of cameras does David use? David will use a selection of photographic equipment at your wedding ranging from Medium format cameras to 35 mm and digital. David uses Bronica ETRS and SQAI’s for medium format and Minolta for 35 mm work. The flexibility of the digital system allows David to really show his creative flair for fantastic wedding pictures. The digital cameras that are used are the Fuji S2 and S3’s, along with Sigma lenses.
How many pictures will David show us? This will depend on what service you choose, if I only attend a registary office wedding I may only show you 50 images if I attend a full package from the brides home to the first dance then it may be up to 500 images. Between 150 and 250 images will be shown to the couple after their return from honeymoon for an average 3-4 hour coverage. There are many more taken, but the pictures shown to you are the ones that really count.
How do we choose the pictures for our album? I present your pictures to you as a CD Slide Show (unless otherwise stated and/or through a web site), you will be given 2-3 copies of the slide show so that you can keep a copy for yourselves, and 1-2 time coded copies for friends and family to look at.
Do many couples have more than the set amount of pictures in their album? Yes, all the couples that we photograph choose more pictures than are standard in the albums. This is charged at a standard rate of £80.00 per page (for prints larger that 10”) irrespective of how many images you have on the page.
A page is also defined as both sides. e.g. a single page with 4 pictures on one side and three pictures on the other is £80.00, a page with one picture on one side and one picture on the other side is still £80.00. Please ask for current price charge for your package.
Is there any extra charge for editing? Only if there are specific areas that the couple would like edited, this could include a black & white picture with colour confetti, or removing a person from a picture completely.
How much editing is used on the pictures? There is just enough editing on the pictures to look at tone, colour and general appearance. There may be options to look at reducing blemishes or lines, if required.
Can we choose different covers for our albums? The albums we use are all hand crafted in Leather, Leather Like or Suede. All the albums are book bound or post bound to the highest quality.
How is the album designed? We will lay out the album here at the studio and provide a printed proof or pdf file of the album design which we will send to you, or you may choose to arrange for us to meet and see for yourself.
After any changes have been made the album will be ordered. It may take up to 6 weeks for the album to arrive and be populated with all your wonderful pictures, but delivery times can be only three weeks.
Can we get parents albums? Yes, parents albums are supplied from the same source as the main abums. They are supplied in 6 or 10 page as standard, but can be manufactured in any amount of pages you require.
The cost for these is £199.00 for 6 pages including prints and £249 for the 10 page version including prints. Albums can be supplied with prints under overlays, or fixed directly on the page.
Can we see our pictures on the internet? Yes, all weddings are placed on the internet, unless specified otherwise. The system allows guests to view the pictures and place orders for prints if they wish. The couple can access the album under a private area and e-mail friends to see the pictures.
How else can we see our pictures? I can prepare many different configurations of pictures unique to you. You can have 2, 4, 6 & 9 pictures in a frame, set behind perfectly cut mounts.
Prices start from £149.00. There is also the option of a CD Slide Show for you to keep and show friends. This is supplied for a nominal fee of £39.95 per copy.
Are there any hidden extras in the pricing? Absolutely not, everything is explained to you during our meetings and is shown on our current price list and detailed in the contract.
How many times do we meet before the wedding? Usually two to three times, but given some geographic locations of weddings, this may be cut down to one main meeting, e-mails and telephone calls.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me and we can discuss them with you.
